Your Daily path

Day 01 - Arrival in Colombo

Step off your long-haul flight into warm, jasmine-scented air and meet your dedicated Lumora driver for a smooth transfer to your eco-boutique beachfront property in Negombo. Unwind in your own time, perhaps a cool dip in the pool or a gentle walk along the lagoon as the sun descends. A naturalist guide is available for a twilight mangrove walk, during which herons stand in the shallow water. Overnight in Yala

Day 02 - Wind, Lagoon & Open Sky

A scenic drive north-west along the coast leads to Kalpitiya, a remote peninsula where lagoon meets open sea in fashion. Arrive by midday for optional kitesurfing lessons on the flat lagoon, one of Asia’s finest kite spots. Your eco-luxury property sits between ocean and wilderness, with unfussy elegance and a profound sense of escape. Dinner as the wind drops and the stars appear. Overnight in Kalpitiya

Day 03 - Dolphins, Salt & Stillness

Kalpitiya rewards those who slow down. Morning dolphin watching on the open water – spinner dolphins arc in formation alongside the boat. Then cycle through salt flats and fishing villages where daily life has continued unchanged for generations. Optional birdwatching across the lagoon, or horseback riding along remote shores where the footprints in the sand belong only to you. Evening stargazing from the beach. Overnight in Kalpitiya

Day 04 - Sacred Stones & Ancient Calm

Drive inland into the ancient city of Anuradhapura, the first capital of Sri Lanka and one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Explore vast stupas, sacred Bodhi trees and monastery ruins at a reflective pace that honours the sanctity of this place. Check into your eco-luxury nature lodge for a Spa or Ayurveda massage that melts away the day into peaceful stillness. Overnight in Anuradhapura

Day 05 - Harbour Blue & Ocean Hush

Head northeast across the island’s dry zone, a landscape of thorny scrub, tanks built by ancient kings, and occasional glimpses of wild peacock. Arrive in Trincomalee, one of the world’s finest natural harbours, where the Indian Ocean is impossibly blue. Check into your beachside stay near Nilaveli beach and let the sound of waves begin their restorative work on your soul. Overnight in Trincomalee

Day 06 - Reefs, Ruins & Open Sea

A full day dedicated to the ocean. In the morning, snorkel or dive at Pigeon Island National Park, a marine sanctuary where coral gardens shelter reef sharks, sea turtles, and tropical fish in dizzying abundance. Optional whale or dolphin watching on the open sea. Afternoon beach recovery, then a walk at dusk to the hilltop Koneswaram Temple and the colonial ruins of Fort Frederick. Overnight in Trincomalee

Day 07 – Wildlife Encountering

Return inland to Habarana, a quiet, forested hub perfectly positioned for wildlife encounters. Afternoon brings a dramatic jeep safari at Minneriya or Kaudulla, where hundreds of elephants gather at ancient reservoirs during the dry season in what naturalists call ‘The Gathering’, one of Asia’s greatest wildlife spectacles. Evening winds down gently with a village cooking experience over an open fire. Overnight near Polonnaruwa

Day 08 – Polonnaruwa Ancient Heritage

Cycle through the ancient royal city of Polonnaruwa, once the capital of a medieval kingdom and today a beautifully preserved UNESCO World Heritage site. Pedal past monumental dagobas, royal palaces, and the serene stone Buddhas of Gal Vihara, carved with astonishing precision. A nature bath at a nearby ancient tank reservoir offers an unexpectedly blissful interlude on your Heritage Day. Overnight in Polonnaruwa

Day 09 - Culture & Wellness Combination

Drive southwest into the hills as the dry lowlands give way to tropical greenery. Arrive in Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural and spiritual capital and visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, where a golden shrine houses the most venerated relic in the Buddhist world. Explore botanical gardens and local markets before an optional evening cultural show and restorative yoga session at your wellness property. Overnight in Kandy

Day 10 - Tea Highlands Amidst Mist

Ascend into tea country on winding mountain roads that reveal plantation after plantation draped across emerald hillsides. Arrive at your luxury tea bungalow, perhaps a converted estate manager’s residence, where the evening is spent by the fireplace as cool mist curls around the gardens. A guided estate walk with local tea pluckers offers an insight into the art of Ceylon tea, from bush to cup. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Day 11 - Mountain Rails & Falling Water

Transfer to Nanu Oya station and board the iconic highland train, possibly the most beautiful rail journey in Asia – through waterfalls, tunnels, and sweeping valley vistas. Alight at Ella, then continue by road through dramatic mountain landscapes, passing Ravana Falls cascading into a roadside gorge. Arrive in Wellawaya to check into your eco-luxury hillside retreat as evening settles over the hills. Overnight in Wellawaya

Day 12 - Hidden Wilderness

Drive east into one of Sri Lanka’s least-visited and most extraordinary wilderness areas, Gal Oya National Park, centred on the vast Senanayake Samudraya reservoir. Here, boat safaris offer a completely unique experience: watching wild elephant herds swim between forested islands, utterly undisturbed by tourist traffic. Stay in a remote eco-lodge so immersed in the forest that monkeys visit at dusk. Overnight near Gal Oya

Day 13 - Secluded Southern Coast

A morning guided jungle walk with local trackers – reading footprints, identifying bird calls, and moving quietly through terrain few visitors ever see. Then, a cross-island drive with thoughtful comfort stops brings you to Tangalle, one of Sri Lanka’s least-visited southern beaches. Check into a secluded eco-luxury wellness retreat. Sunset meditation on the beach with the Indian Ocean in front of you. Overnight in Tangalle

Day 14 - Galle, Cobblestones & Farewell Light

A final morning of leisure by the ocean – swim, sunbathe, or simply sit in the sand and let the waves have the last word. Drive to Galle, the most enchanting fort town on the island’s southern tip. Colonial Dutch architecture, art galleries spilling onto cobblestone streets, and bougainvillaea draped over centuries-old walls. Spend your final evening wandering freely, shopping for batik and spices, dining by candlelight. Overnight in Tangalle

Day 15 - Departure

A slow, nostalgic morning breakfast in Galle. Then the coastal highway rolls back toward Colombo, passing stilt fishermen, gem shops, and beachside stalls selling king coconut. Optional stops at artisan cafes and boutiques before reaching the capital for your final transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport and the flight that carries you home.
