Your Daily path

Day 01 – Arrival in Colombo

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer just minutes north to Negombo for your first night, a gentle, unhurried start designed to ease the transition from long-haul travel to island time. Your eco-lodge by the lagoon provides a quiet, natural setting to decompress, hydrate, and begin the deliberate slowing down that defines this journey. Overnight in Negombo

Day 02 – Sacred Stones & Still Waters

Drive north to the ancient city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first capital and one of Asia’s most sacred Buddhist sites, before checking into the Uga Ulagalla, a luxury retreat set amid a vast private reservoir estate. An afternoon cycling route through ancient rural pathways introduces the meditative quality of this ancient, deeply spiritual landscape. Overnight in Anuradhapura

Day 03 – Nature & Mindful Living

Begin the day at Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, the oldest documented tree in the world, grown from a cutting of the Bodhi Tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment, tended here for over 2,200 years. This visit sets the tone for the day’s village and farm experiences, weaving community, nature and mindfulness into one seamless whole. Overnight in Anuradhapura

Day 04 – Moving Through Stillness

The vast private estate of Ulagalla invites slow, purposeful exploration – birdwatching by the ancient reservoir, cycling between rock temples and paddy fields, or simply sitting in contemplative stillness as the landscape breathes around you. Evening yoga sessions under open skies and spa therapies focused on grounding and restoration frame another deeply nourishing day. Overnight in Anuradhapura

Day 05 – Rooted in Ulagalla

A final morning in Anuradhapura’s ancient landscape, perhaps a sunrise visit to the great white dagobas that rise like moons from the jungle or a quiet breakfast by the reservoir as migratory birds wheel overhead. Therapies in the afternoon draw the Ulagalla chapter to a nourishing close before departure the next morning. Overnight in Anuradhapura

Day 06 – Exploration & Restoration

Transfer south to the hill capital of Kandy, arriving with time for a contemplative walk around the famous lake as afternoon light plays across its surface. The evening offers an optional traditional cultural dance performance – fire-jugglers, peacock dancers, and ancient drumming creating a theatrical, celebratory counterpoint to the days of quiet immersion. Overnight in Kandy

Day 07 – Soft Culture & Wellness

Morning at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, where the atmosphere of puja – incense, lotus offerings, and the resonant sound of the Hevisi drums, creates an experience both culturally immersive and deeply calming. An afternoon wellness therapy session is followed by optional browsing of Kandy’s artisanal crafts and gem stores. Overnight in Kandy

Day 08 – Rising into Colonial Cool

Ascend into the cool, colonial world of Nuwara Eliya, once the favourite retreat of British planters, and check into your luxury tea estate accommodation, where log fires warm evenings and the scent of fresh-plucked tea drifts through open windows. An afternoon stroll through Gregory Park and an optional rowboat on the lake offer gentle delight. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Day 09 – Restorative Living

The cool highland air of Nuwara Eliya is itself restorative and today is designed entirely around absorbing it. Walk through estate rows with a planter’s guide, learning the cultivation of Ceylon’s finest single-estate teas. A spa session in the afternoon uses highland herbs and warming oils, and the evening settles into fireplace warmth and slow dining. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Day 10 – Tea Country Restorative Living

A second day in the cool climate reset continues the gentle restoration of the hill country: morning nature walks to viewpoints above the clouds, a meditation session in the estate’s private gardens, and an afternoon of total leisure – reading, napping, or simply gazing out at the vast green world. This is the luxury of having nowhere else to be. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Day 11 – From Highlands to Ocean's Edge

A long but rewarding cross-island journey carries you from the cool highlands to the warm, wild beauty of Tangalle on the southern coast – checking into the magnificent Anantara Peace Haven, perched on dramatic ocean headlands. Arrive in time for the resort’s signature welcome ritual: a ceremony that marks the beginning of the journey’s final, ocean-gifted chapter. Overnight in Tangalle

Day 12 – Where the Island Opens to the Sea

Anantara’s extraordinary spa concludes the programme with deep-tissue coastal therapies using indigenous Sri Lankan ingredients – cinnamon bark, coconut oil, and black pepper – that address the body with precision and luxury. Between sessions, yoga platforms above the open ocean offer breathtaking practice, and a private beach cove invites meditation and swimming. Overnight in Tangalle

Day 13 – Deep Ocean Wellness

The final day of the Lumora Signature programme honours the journey’s completion: a closing wellness therapy, a personal consultation on maintaining your new baseline at home, and a long, unhurried sunset meditation on the beach as the Indian Ocean performs its ancient, healing rhythm. Sri Lanka bids you farewell in the most magnificent way possible. Overnight in Tangalle

Day 14 – Departure

A quiet breakfast above the ocean – tea, tropical fruit, and the sound of waves – before the long drive north to Colombo for your international departure. Leave with a quieter mind, healthier body, and a connection to this island that no flight can sever. Sri Lanka will wait for your return.
